The Challenge

The goal of this project was to create an editorial book that educates and honors the role of military dogs in World War I and II. The challenge was to design a piece that not only conveyed the emotional impact of these dogs’ service but also felt authentic to the historical period, giving readers a tactile, immersive experience.

The Solution

To bring the concept to life, the book was handcrafted from distressed leather, sourced from a couch, laser-cut with a custom logo, and stitched together by hand. The pages were hand-sewn to mimic the look and feel of wartime journals. This combination of historical materials and traditional bookbinding techniques allowed the book to physically embody the era while educating readers about the bravery and dedication of military dogs.
